Sugar-Salem Football: State Playoffs. Sugar faces Homedale at 3:00 PM on Saturday at Holt Arena in the championship game.

Diggers Demolish Homedale 48-14 to Repeat as State Champions

Sugar-Salem Football ended an amazingly successful run with a complete destruction of the vaunted Homedale offense. Homedale scored on their opening drive, then failed to move the football consistently until the end of the game. During the game, Homedale’s Uranga, who had only thrown two interceptions all season, was intercepted three times, with the interceptions twice being returned for touchdowns. Sugar was able to move the ball at will on Homedale, with Hadley Miller, Brown Bennion, and Sam Parkinson leading the three-headed monster that is the Sugar-Salem running game.

The Diggers end the season with their second consecutive title.
