Glenn Miller Night - March 13th and 14th

Dear Glenn Miller Night Patrons,

Because of the state of emergency that has been declared by the governor, we are cancelling tonight and tomorrow night’s performance.  We are very disappointed!  However, we have a legal obligation—and more importantly, moral obligation—to insure that our event does not spread this feared disease.  However, we are planning on streaming the performance of Friday evening’s performance.  I will get a livestream link to you as soon as possible.  Also, you can check the Sugar-Salem website and District Facebook page for livestream details:

Plus, for those of you who are in the area, we will be making the food available here at Kershaw Elementary.  The food will be prepared and packaged by only healthy adults.  You can come by and get the meal starting at 6:45 PM.  The live stream will begin at 8:00 PM.  Please accept my apology for this inconvenience. No show or dinner will be available Saturday. All patrons desiring to receive their meal or watch the show will need to watch today, Friday the 13th.
As you know, this is our fundraiser.  It is our only source of financial support, as the state withdrew financial support for individual programs years ago.  We would kindly ask that you consider you ticket price as a donation.  However, if you feel you need a refund, we will gladly refund you ticket.  Unfortunately, since we are not a business or a financial institution, we are not set up to send refunds through technological means.  If you want a refund, you will have to come into the school.  I also apologize for any difficulty or inconvenience this may cause.

I am so grateful for your support of our program.  Words fall so short in expressing my appreciation and gratitude.  May your families remain healthy and happy during these crazy times.

Thanks so much,
Mark H. Seare

Authentic Jazz Music, modeled after the style of Glenn Miller, has been part of Sugar Salem High School Jazz band culture for a quarter of a century!

This year marks the 26th annual Glenn Miller Night for Sugar Salem Jazz Bands, under the expert direction of Mark Seare.  Mr. Seare’s legendary example and love of music has instilled in over 85 students a year, a desire to learn and share this charismatic style of jazz music complete with intricate rhythms and delightful harmony.   Music selections include Night Train, Go Daddy O, Tiger of San Pedro, and Feelin Good, along with a myriad of additional jazz selections.

This event began as a fundraiser  for the music program at Sugar Salem High school, and continues to be the only source of funding for the band program.  Glenn Miller Night  is organized under the direction of Mark Seare, and executed through the efforts of hundreds of volunteer hours.  We applaud the many community members who support this event through attendance and their advertisements in the Glenn Miller program. We invite the community to come and enjoy this memorable evening of dinner and dancing to live bands on March 13th,  and 14th, 2020.
