About the Digger Kids Club

The Digger Kids Club is an after-school academic and activity program that runs throughout the school year.  The program is made possible by a grant called the 21st Century Learning Centers Grant.  Any student is allowed to participate and can do so free of charge.  Students receive a healthy snack as soon as school is out and then move into the homework club.  Each participating student is required to participate in the homework club portion of the program.  After that, the students move into a variety of activities which include:  Cooking, book club, writers club, science olympiad, Xbox, ping-pong, soccer, basketball, scrapbooking, dancing, and many, many more.  Students are allowed to choose the activities in which they would like to participate, within three different sessions throughout the school year.  The after-school program runs Monday through Thursday from 2:50 to 5:15.  If you have questions or would like to participate in or volunteer with the after school program, please contact the director, Karl Gehmlich, at 356-0241, or by email at kgehmlich@sugarsalem.com.
